Wanted New Buzz Words

When the BNBB flagship popped it’s cork and settled to the bottom of the Ocean, a bunch of us waded up the beaches of AAJ.. to be greeted by P.. Rock’s Necrophiliac thread ( No P not attacking you.. just think it was funny and it led to these thoughts )

So we shouldn’t be allowed to discuss the dead guys.. though I think Miles / Trane/ Duke etc were exempt. Bands with banjos though were fair game. Put those figs in a concentration camp.. confine them…

Well you know, weren’t many , actually any, figs that swam ashore. Myself excepted. Most the guys ( girls ) who I’ve met via the boards who will deign to listen to some pre 60’s jazz, like me , listen to everything.

If you want real figs.. try the Bix Board.. and I’m sure there are other boards out there that stipulate no saxophones…

But from P..Rocks Comments and a couple I have met personally there are as narrow minded listeners on the other side of the coin. Hey if it aint squwarking way out free form recorded yesterday.. it ain’t Jazz..

The Mouldy Fig thing came up in the Bebop days.. can’t remember what we called the Boppers. Though Satch did his Boppinpoof Song and Condon made it clear that we drank our fifths..

So I’ve racked my 5th ridden brain to come up with a term for those that think the only jazz is out, and no doubt will desert it when it’s in

Out There Ourangatangs ( un subtle shot at a previous post)
Harmonic Hellions.. nope
Chordless cloners.. hmnn
Calder Conservatives ( sorry Jim )
Unboxed Lemmings.. nah not quite right.. true but…

So , as most of you have a nice, but bizarre sense of humour

What do we call those who will only listen to the latest, Most MODERN Jazz?????
